Join us as Devon Hogue discusses the opportunities and challenges of filming on location in the City of Cambridge. Find out what shows have filmed locally, how Economic Development attempts to balance the needs of the community with the wants of the industry, what type of impact this has on our city, and how the film team ensures a production company gets their perfect shot. BIOGRAPHY: Devon Hogue is a community builder, supporter and cheerleader from Cambridge. She has been an enthusiastic municipal professional for almost 20 years - 14 of which were spent within the Clerks Division before moving into Economic Development. Devon is currently employed as the Business Information Officer for the City of Cambridge, where she specializes in municipal film program development, coordination and promotion. She has studied Economic Development at the University of Waterloo, Leadership Development with Conestoga College and Municipal Administration through the Association of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO). Dedicated to lifelong learning, Devon is currently studying digital marketing through McMaster University. Devon is passionate about her community, building positive relationships and experiences within it, and watching the burgeoning film industry grow throughout Ontario. She works closely with fire departments across Ontario coordinating fire fighter fundraising events. Key roles and responsibilities include: planning various fire fighter fundraising campaigns – including the creation of our new online platform during Covid-19; fire department outreach and recruitment; distribution of campaign materials; supporting fire fighters with their event planning; hosting Town Halls, conferences and attending Fire Fighter meetings & events to engage fire fighter stakeholders, share info on MDC & connect Fire Fighters with our clients. |

Please join us on Friday, May 21 for our club meeting. 7:15-7:30 Social chat | 7:30 Meeting officially starts Anne Bordeleau, O'Donovan Director, SChool of Architecture Dr. Anne Bordeleau is O’Donovan Director and Associate Professor at the School of Architecture of the University of Waterloo. A registered architect in Québec (OAQ), she is an historian with publications on the temporal dimensions of drawings, maps, buildings, and architecture more generally. She is the author of Charles Robert Cockerell, Architect in Time: Reflections around Anachronistic Drawings (Ashgate, 2014), and co-author of the book The Evidence Room (New Jewish Press, 2016), which accompanied the exhibition presented at the 15th Venice Biennale in 2016. She is interested in architecture as a cultural act, a commitment that informs her research as much as her approach to education. |

She went on to play 4 years in college, and then ventured into competitive bodybuilding and women's tackle football. While in the process of becoming a therapist, she worked as a personal trainer and occassional coach. |
